Surprise Box Brings Dozens of New Cubs

Lee recently reached out and said he wanted to send a box of Cubs my way. Did he ever! Upon opening the box I was impressed with some top loaders right off the bat.

And there were plenty of other Cubs goodies inside. Kellogg's released some 3-D Superstars sets in the late 70's and early 80's. These Bruce Sutter cards from the 1978 and 1979 sets are so vibrant and colorful.

Plenty of Cubs prospects were here as well. This is a 2016 Bowman Chrome Top 100 Updates Duane Underwood. It seems like Underwood has been a prospect for a decade.

No longer a Cubs top prospect, but still in Chicago is Eloy Jimenez. He was sent to the White Sox in the Jose Quintana deal.

The other piece to that deal with Jimenez was Dylan Cease, who is among several Topps Pro Debut cards. Many of these are new to my collection. I buy very little Pro Debut, but may snag a hobby box or two this year.

A couple Kyle Schwarber inserts are also new to the One Million Cubs Project.

I'm a big fan of these 2001 Topps Archives reprints. Here's a 1966 Topps Harvey Kuenn.

Oh, those top loaders that greeted me upon opening? How about a 2016 Bowman Chrome Mark Zagunis autograph. Nice!

A 2014 Panini Prizm Kyle Schwarber 18/35.

Printing plates don't get the hobby love I think they should. This 2015 Bowman Justin Steele is a magenta plate. It's only the second Cubs printing plate in my collection, along with a Dylan Cease.

Finally, a 2010 Bowman Sterling Team USA game worn jersey Relic card.

What a great surprise mailday from Lee. He has some nice cards listed on eBay . Check out his listings.

Tomorrow I'll be reviewing a trade that sent almost 4,000 Cubs cards to my doorstep. On Wednesday, I'll share a white whale that landed inside my mailbox.
