By the Numbers: One Million Cubs Project Update

The mailbox was empty on Friday, which allows me to catch up on the By the Numbers segment. Don't worry, I won't be completely shutout of new Cubs cards. A post-work visit to Target found me buying five blaster boxes of 2018 Topps Chrome that was released this week.

So today's update was what was actually in the mail on Thursday. Two boxes were on my door step. The first, was a pair of Bobbleheads I purchased off a Facebook group. Only $25 shipped for two South Bend Cubs Eloy Jimenez bobbleheads? That's a steal!

The second package contained a box of Cubs from John in Florida . This is our second trade. I'll be returning him a, potpourri if you will, of cards he collects. Not often do I open trade packages and find THREE Ryne Sandberg cards needed for my collection. This one did. I knew of the 1984 All Star (produced in 1985), but had never seen the 1993 Duracell nor the 1993 Leaf Heading for the Hall insert.

And I love receiving Javy Baez cards. I only have a couple of the 2017 Allen & Ginter What a Day! inserts.

While I may have these minor league cards from 1994 Classic, they look new to me. I'm a sucker for minor league cards.

Here's a 1976 Topps Ray Burris.

I met Ray in January, and he's a super nice guy and a great story teller.

Topps used the floating heads for the Cubs team cards in the 1970's. In that run, this 1972 team card is my favorite.
