Bean's Ballcard Blog Flat Rate Review

A small flat rate box full of Cubs came Saturday.

Thanks to Kin, also known as Bean's Ballcard Blog on Twitter, for the box of goodies. Well packaged on the inside with the Cubs cards inside team bags.

Side note: I definitely reuse supplies such as team bags, penny sleeves, and top loaders for other trades. Think green! First thing as I perused the contents was a few Baez beauties.

If I were to lock down a second favorite player to collect it would be Dylan Cease, even though he's cross town with the White Sox. This here is a sweet card of Cease from 2014 Bowman Draft. It's a chrome Refractor.

Going back a couple years prior here's a purple bordered Jeimer Candelario from 2012 Bowman. Candelario is another former Cubs prospect that was used as a trade chip as he was shipped to the Detroit Tigers.

I love Bowman, and here are some late 1990's inserts of Sammy Sosa and Kevin Orie.

Another insert from the late 90's is a 1997 Flair Wave of the Future Pat Cline which is a new one for my collection.

He included a couple sweet Starlin Castro cards: a 2010 Topps 206 rookie and a 2012 Topps Chrome die-cut Insert.

And it's numbered 372/561.

Back to Kerry Wood, and these two cards look like base 1998 Topps Star cards.

But they're not! Both are serial numbered to /9,799.

It wasn't all hits in this box, as there was a fair share of "junk era" cards. I now have 58 more 1988 Donruss Shawon Dunston cards.

In all, the more than 300 cards ranged from 1978 to 2018. Not all mint, but certainly in excellent enough condition for my team collecting needs (some of the Chrome cards had scratches, older cards showed a little bit of wear).

And there was some duplication (like 58 Dunston's from '88), but overall an awesome selection of Cubs over a span of 40 years including a few that I needed for my collection.
