Flat Tuesday: Cubs Flat Rate Boxes
It was a two for Tuesday with flat rate boxes. John in Indiana and Trevor from Twitter shipped a total of 1,583 Cubs cards my way.
Trevor made my day with a much larger stack of Cubs than I expected. He sent 417 altogether including some Javy Baez. The only thing I had sent to Trevor was a pile of 1988 Donruss to mark off his set building list.
The 2017 Topps Bunt is a new add to the Baez collection. There were a few Kris Bryant cards here.
1995 Studio is supremely underrated. The cards are designed to look like credit cards and they did an awesome job as you can see with this awesome Cubs fan favorite, Shawon Dunston.
Upper Deck's Victory set in the late 1990's was a really bland product, but this Greg Maddux Rookie Flashback brings back some memories.
Another new addition to my Cubs collection is this 2000 Stadium Club Chrome Roosevelt Brown. I didn't even realize (or forgot) there was a Chrome Stadium Club set.
My trade with John from Indiana was done through a Facebook group when he was looking for Carlton Fisk cards. I was able to drum up over 200 Fisk's along with about a dozen Paul Konerko cards. Again, I was a bit overwhelmed by the return. A few Baez cards!
A 2014 Bowman Pierce Johnson with the foil missing. I don't think this is a documented error card, but it's still unique.
Some early 1970's goodies.
Felix Pie 2007 Topps 1st Edition. I was surprised to see the print run lower on these than expected. There was only one 1st Edition per hobby box.
Shiny parallels of Jeff Samardzija and Ben Zobrist.
A couple Ryne Sandberg Oddballs.
And a foursome of forgotten: Brooks Kieschnick, Ben Christensen, Luis Vizcaino, and Daniel Garibay.
