Ryno and Box Breaks

Several packages arrived Thursday, and a few boxes were busted open.

Greg in Oregon blew me away with a flat rate box. Inside? Ryne Sandberg. More than 1,600 Sandberg cards!

There was also a stack of other Cubs that included a trio of Mark Grace oddballs that I needed.

Another Dylan Cease card was added to the collection via eBay. This is the 2017 Bowman yellow parallel.

I added some vintage from eBay as well picking up five 1949 Eureka Stamps: Hal Jeffcoat, Herman Reich, Roy Smalley, Johnny Schmitz, and Rube Novotney.

An envelope arrived with a pair of 1958 Topps John Goryl and Turk Lown and 1961 Topps Seth Morehead. There was no return address on the package.

A few years ago I submitted several redemptions to Panini and nearly two years they were not filled. I reached out to customer service and was given Panini Points as a replacement. I went shopping with those points and ordered three Cubs along with some prospect autos I'll hang on to. Cubs I picked up are a 2013 Kyuji Fujikawa rookie auto 26/125, 2009 Donruss Elite Austin Kirk auto 482/599, and 2017 Panini Promising Pros Jeimer Candelario auto relic 38/99.

Also opened some packs of 2018 Topps Chrome Update and a box of 2013 Leaf Draft.

One box I ordered off Blowout Cards' Black Friday sale was a 2015 Topps Heritage '51, and was really looking forward to this. Each box comes with a complete base set, 21 mini parallels, and an autograph. Two of the mini parallels were Cubs rookies: Kris Bryant (sweet!) and Addison Russell.

The base set features six Cubs: Jon Lester, Addison Russell, Jorge Soler, Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, and Starlin Castro.
