Wal-Mart 50-Pack Bundle Review

Two weeks ago I learned of a 50-pack bundle that was an online exclusive through Walmart.com. A few members on the Blowout Forums began talking about it and it seemed to spread like wildfire among the regular posters.

The ad for this bundle looked awesome. Fifty packs of baseball cards for $20. That’s how much a blaster of seven or eight packs will run. Even if it’s all junk era, it’s a fun break on the cheap.

Better yet, the results began trickling in and there were some newer products inside. Twice I attempted to purchase, but it was already sold out. Third time was the charm and by this time I was on it. Since my spending on Topps Heritage is down immensely this year over the past two years I decided to throw $100 at these bundles and ordered five of them.

I was curious how they would be packed, so I wanted to film the entire box opening.

As expected, all five orders were consolidated into the one box. Several loose packs and ten of the Fairfield repack boxes.

I wanted to see what was in the repack boxes, so I filmed the opening of all ten. Zero packs were opened, just the outside boxes to see what packs were inside.

My Review - Buyer Beware/Personal Grade - A

This is an A+ if you want to rip packs on the cheap. Awesome for kids because you have volume (50 packs) mixed with “junk era” with today’s era cards. If you’re looking for value to flip, don’t waste your time. The loose packs are mostly the dollar store 5-card packs that include only base cards.

Buyer Beware: Most of the Fairfield boxes appeared to be resealed. Evidence includes actual resealing of plastic, in addition to several boxes having repeat packs (1990 Fleer, 1989 Donruss, etc.). Typically, in these boxes you will have ten different packs. Also, all but five of the loose packs were the dollar store base-only packs. There were five hobby packs of 2008 Topps, and all five were slit open at the top. So, these packs and repack boxes that are being sold have been tampered with. It's still a good buy in my opinion, but buyer beware.
