Rookies, Refractors, Bryant and Baez from Bryan

Bryan in Texas said he had about 5,000 Cubs cards to send me. He sure did. And I certainly wasn’t expecting what was inside.

After thanking him immensely for the awesome assortment I had to offer some shipping advice. That postage price of $46.70 made my jaw hit the floor. This amount of cards could fit (or almost fit) inside a large flat rate gaming box that costs $17.60 using PayPal shipping.

Honestly, I was expecting about 5,000 Cubs cards from 1986-1993, and that’s okay. I love those cards, too. But, this box had way more than that, and I’ll have to start with my favorite player, Javier Baez. There were first Bowman cards from 2011 and rookie cards.

Kris Bryant was well represented, including a few rookies.

A couple of Topps short prints. An Ian Happ 2017 Topps rookie, and a 2018 Topps Ernie Banks.

Albert Almora 2018 Topps Parallel numbered 25/67.

Had never seen these minis from 2016 Topps. I flipped this Jason Heyward over and gasped when I saw it was numbered 4/5.

Another pleasant surprise here. This is a new Lou Brock for my collection. Great looking card. On the flip side I discovered it’s numbered 49/55.

A few Topps buybacks: 1973 Topps Milt Pappas, 1977 Topps Darold Knowles, 1979 Topps Donnie Moore, and 2006 Topps Nomar Garciaparra.

Holy relics! A slew of them. 2014 Topps Starlin Castro, 2009 Upper Deck Aramis Ramirez, 2008 Upper Deck Alfonso Soriano numbered 14/25, 2013 Gypsy Queen Matt Garza, 2010 Upper Deck Kosuke Fukudome, 2008 Upper Deck Derrek Lee, and 2014 Topps Heritage Fred McGriff.

A pile of serial numbered and refractors also included the following: 2016 Bowman Platinum Willson Contreras 193/250, 2018 Topps Chrome Update David Bote 235/250, 2018 Bowman Chrome Anthony Rizzo 88/250, 2017 Topps Chrome Rob Zastryzny 79/99, 2017 Topps Chrome reverse negative Ben Zobrist, and a 2017 Gypsy Queen Kyle Hendricks 79/250.

Blown away by this box, absolutely awesome!
