TGIF Hits With 2019 Donruss

Three was the magic number on Friday with a couple of trade packages courtesy of Justin in Indianapolis and James in Minnesota. The third package was an eBay purchase utilizing a $3 off coupon.

With that coupon I was looking for Cole Roederer. I found a 2018 Bowman Chrome Draft Purple Refractor numbered 92/350. It’s price was less than $3, so I found another purple Refractor...Aramis Ademan numbered 64/250. I was disappointed that the seller used only one penny sleeve for both chrome cards. This can easily scratch the chrome cards.

What I wasn’t disappointed with was the two trade packages from James and Justin. The mailer from James was loaded with 2019 Donruss with a bunch of hits. Take a look at all the Kris Bryant cards. The Franchise Futures is numbered 344/999 and the 150th Anniversary stamp is numbered 32/150.

How about Javy? Baez is easily my favorite Cubs player and I was still on cloud nine a day after the Cubs opening day win against the Rangers in which Javy hit two home runs. The stack of Baez included a 2017 Allen & Ginter black border mini, 2019 Topps Stars of the Game Insert, and 2019 Donruss Diamond Kings numbered 1/99.

Anthony Rizzo is also well represented with a 2019 Donruss Franchise Features numbered 97/249, 2019 Donruss numbered 66/99, and one numbered 25/484.

Stepping back to the 2000’s was this 2005 Topps Finest Corey Patterson green Refractor numbered 43/199.

Justin from Indy sent a great mix of Cubs that included vintage: 1958 Topps Tony Taylor, 1962 Topps Bob Will, 1965 Topps Vic Roznovsky, 1966 Topps Bob Buhl, and 1968 Topps of Joe Niekro and Rob Gardner.

A new Sammy Sosa for the player collection: 2000 Fleer die-cut.

Jason Heyward 2016 Topps black numbered 27/65.

A great Mailday and a big thank you to Justin and James, who will be getting packages of Don Mattingly and Twins, respectively.
