Cubs Autograph for Cubs Autograph Trade

In the past week I’ve shipped out THREE Cubs cards in trades. What’s wrong with me?

Well, I traded a 1988 Topps Traded Mark Grace rookie for a stack of Cubs. Also this week I sent off a 1983 Topps Ryne Sandberg rookie card for 227 Cubs cards.

Trade a Cubs autograph? Would I ever do such a thing? I would, and I did. It was under special circumstances. Three years ago I was piling up on Dylan Cease cards in hopes they would rise in price and I could flip. If they didn’t, they were Cubs cards so they would be part of my collection. This was long before the One Million Cubs Project started.

Dylan Cease is off to a hot start for the triple-A Charlotte Knights in the White Sox organization. I felt it was time to flip some Cease cards. I sold a green Refractor Autograph and Refractor Autograph from 2014 Bowman Chrome Draft. I was also going to list on eBay a regular chrome auto.

Greg from Oregon reached out. We have made a few trades, and he’s also a Cubs fan. That’s awesome that a fellow Cubs fan gives up Cubs cards to help my project. I have traded Greg Green Bay Packers cards in the past. I’m always happy to get rid of those stinking Packers cards. He mentioned he pulled a pair of Miguel Amaya chrome autographs from a 2019 Bowman break and would send me one. I sent off a Dylan Cease Chrome Auto and he sent me a Miguel Amaya Autograph. That’s what hobby trades are all about. I have several Cease autos and felt comfortable trading one for something I needed, and Greg had an extra Amaya auto.

He also sent some base cards of Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, and Francisco Arcia.

Even some Chrome prospect cards were part of the package: Nico Hoerner, Keegan Thompson, and Miguel Amaya.
