Mike’s Amazing Pictures and a New Hawk

Mike in Milford, Indiana and Joe in Avon, Ohio sent packages on Wednesday. This is my second trade with Mike, and this one actually was a two-parter.

Mike takes photos at South Bend Cubs games and sent a few via email, like this awesome Gleyber Torres action shot.

Here’s another Gleyber Torres photo. I’m happy Torres is having success with the Yankees. It does hurt a little.

Eloy Jimenez was also a member of the South Bend Cubs before he too was traded. Jimenez is now with the Chicago White Sox, so at least both of these guys are in the American League.

Also inside...the program for this year’s Midwest League All Star game hosted by South Bend.

Initially when I opened this package I only saw one top loader in the envelope. It was a 2019 South Bend Cubs pocket schedule.

Wait...a second top loader was inside. What?!? An autographed Cole Roederer South Bend Cubs card?!? Mike, you outdid yourself!

Mike’s daughter even added to the trade with a dozen Cubs cards from her collection! Thanks, Caraline!

Joe’s package included a new Andre Dawson card. It’s from 2013 Panini Hometown Heroes and it’s a Nicknames Insert of “the Hawk.”

From the same set, another new Dawson.

And Kerry Wood. Eventually, when I get things organized I’ll be putting together player binders and both Wood and Dawson will have binders of their own.

Going back, I love these Isaly’s discs from the late 1970’s.
