King of the Cubs

Monday’s seem to always be a big mailday, and this week was no different. Four Cubs baseball card packages came and I was entertained by how this one was addressed.

There is no return address and no note inside, so I am not sure who sent this. Inside the envelope were five Cubs cards: 1988 Donruss Luis Quinones, 1989 Score Angel Salazar, 1992 Ultra Dave Smith, 1992 Upper Deck Jerome Walton and Heathcliff Slocumb.

Dustin in Arizona sent a stack of Cubs that included the National Baseball Card Day Javier Baez.

The rest of the pile featured everyone from Assenmacher, Paul to Zobrist, Ben.

Another PWE arrived from California via @LaughandLearnAD. In it included a new Javier Baez card for my collection: 2019 Donruss Optic Illusions Insert.

And a 2019 Allen & Ginter Kris Bryant.

Mike in California sent a flat rate box of Cubs. There were a bunch of new additions for my collection including an autograph! Shawon Dunston Jr. numbered to /199.

Wait, there’s more. Another autograph. From Panini it’s a Victor Caratini Rookie Reserves Signatures numbered /99. Super thick card stock on this one.

A bunch of Kris Bryant cards including a 2018 Donruss Optic pink parallel and a 2019 Donruss Action All Stars.

A set of the Ernie Banks Front Row cards from the early 1990’s.

An Anthony Rizzo candy lid from 2019 Topps Archives.

Home Run Challenge of Kyle Schwarber from 2019 Topps and it’s unscratched.

I bought three blasters of 2019 Topps Big League and later realized there was a card on each box you can cut out. Kris Bryant is on that checklist. My boxes had Mike Trout and Juan Soto, so it’s nice to get a Bryant.

Oversized Sammy Sosa from 1999 Topps.

Another new card for me. It’s from 2004 Fleer Greats. This Gabby Hartnett card is numbered of /1922.

While I have an extra box of 1970’s Hostess cards, this 1975 Don Kessinger has eluded me. Not anymore!

A great Mailday, and thanks for the Cubs. I’ll be heading out for vacation Thursday and will catch up on trade packages when I return in 11 days.
